Baseball Recap: Eastern Hancock Beats Indianapolis Scecina Memorial for Their Third Straight Win

Eastern Hancock gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past the Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders 11-3. For the Royals, this counts as revenge for the 12-5 victory the Crusaders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Aidan Morris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Eastern Hancock is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-10-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Hayden Rouse was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kolt Wilson, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Eastern Hancock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win was the third in a row for Eastern Hancock, bringing their record up to 5-11-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.
