Baseball Recap: Highland Prep West Comes Up Short

Highland Prep West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Madison Highland Prep Heat, falling 11-3.

Tristan Arenet made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Highland Prep West's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Matthew Lewis, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Highland Prep West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Madison Highland Prep, their record is now 4-8.

Coincidentally, Highland Prep West and Madison Highland Prep will both be playing Fountain Hills the next time they take the field. The Heat will head out to face the Falcons at 3:45 p.m. on Monday, while the HORNETS will head out to face them at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
