Basketball Game Preview: Ponca City Wildcats vs. Bixby Spartans

The Ponca City Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Bixby Spartans at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ponca City is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Ponca City was beaten by Union 92-41. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Redhawks are ranked tenth).

Ponca City's loss came about despite a quality game from Trenton Wilson, who posted nine points. Those nine points gave Wilson a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Bixby was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 72-68 to Stillwater.

Ponca City's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Bixby, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Ponca City came up short against Bixby in their previous meeting back in January, falling 51-41. Can Ponca City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
