Basketball Recap: Redmond Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Redmond, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bothell Cougars on Friday as the Redmond Mustangs made off with an 84-61 win. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Cougars are ranked 161st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Bothell still got an impressive performance from Stefan Savovic, who went 8 of 10 to rack up 21 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Savovic now owns an excellent 46.2% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Nassir Gatdet, who posted ten points.

Redmond pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points over those games. As for Bothell, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Redmond has already played their next game, a 62-58 win against Mercer Island on the 4th. As for Bothell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-54 victory against North Creek on the 4th.
