Softball Recap: South Central Takes a Loss

South Central couldn't beat Boone Grove on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Satellites fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 7-6. The Satellites were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolves earlier this season, when they won 8-0.

Maddy Cleek was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

South Central's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 14-5-1. As for Boone Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.

South Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-1 win against Portage on the 19th. As for Boone Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-2 victory against Morgan Township on the 17th.
