Baseball Recap: Bainbridge-Guilford Has No Trouble Against Walton

Bainbridge-Guilford won the last time they faced Walton and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bobcats blew past the Warriors 9-3. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Anthony Cafasso made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Cafasso was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Cafasso wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson McGraw, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. McGraw has become a key player for Bainbridge-Guilford: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Connor Davy was another, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

With the victory, Bainbridge-Guilford broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-3. As for Walton, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Walton will look to defend their home field on Friday against Sidney at 4:30 p.m. Bainbridge-Guilford will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' match: after the Warriors face off against the Team, they'll take on Bainbridge-Guilford again at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
