Ray proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Alice Coyotes 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Texans: when they faced off against the Coyotes back in March, they had to take a 1-0 loss.

OJ RUIZ spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, LUCAS TINAJERO was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Ray is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Alice, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12-1.

Ray has already played their next match, a 4-3 defeat against Flour Bluff on the 11th. As for Alice, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-1 loss against Calallen on the 11th.
