Volleyball Recap: Windermere Wolverines vs. Dr. Phillips Panthers
Windermere was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Dr. Phillips Panthers, falling 3-0. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-13, 25-18.
Elijah Ihnenfeld paced Windermere's offense, picking up 12 kills. Ihnenfeld got some help from Bruno Perez and his 28 assists.
Dr. Phillips' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Cervantes, who had 11 digs and one assist.
Windermere's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Dr. Phillips, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Windermere and Dr. Phillips are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, the Wolverines and Apopka will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dr. Phillips, they will face off against Horizon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
