Basketball Recap: West Cabarrus Wolverines vs. Lake Norman Wildcats

After flying high against North Iredell last Monday, West Cabarrus came back down to earth. The West Cabarrus Wolverines were dealt a 79-49 defeat at the hands of the Lake Norman Wildcats on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Camari Mccrae, who posted 13 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jase Watson-Rice, who scored ten points.

Lake Norman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nick Arnold, who earned 18 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. Another player making a difference was Trent Steinour, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds.

West Cabarrus' defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Lake Norman, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

West Cabarrus has already played their next game, a 63-48 victory against A.L. Brown on the 9th. As for Lake Norman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 85-70 win against Hickory Ridge on the 9th.
