Softball Recap: Westview vs. Marian Crusaders
Westview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell just short of the Marian Crusaders by a score of 8-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Westview of the 4-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August.
Londynn Danner was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in batting average. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Tackitt, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Westview's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Marian, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-9 record.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westview's road trip will continue as they head out to face Auburn on Tuesday.
