Football Recap: Naples Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Naples was the 17-10 winner over Port Charlotte when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Eagles and the Pirates were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Golden Eagles suffered a 28-27 loss.

Even if they lost, Naples' defense still kept up the pressure with six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Andre Ferdinand and Jelani Georges, who racked up four sacks between them. Georges has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last five times he's played. Naples got some further help from Sebastian Casseus: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles.

Logan Flaherty produced another solid effort throwing for 208 yards and a pair of TDs, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground for Port Charlotte.

Naples' defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-1. As for Port Charlotte, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Naples does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Port Charlotte, they will challenge Zephyrhills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 7.9 points per game this season, so the Pirates' offense will have their work cut out for them.
