Basketball Game Preview: Owen Warhorses vs. Mitchell Mountaineers

Owen hasn't had much luck against Mitchell recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Owen Warhorses will host the Mitchell Mountaineers at 6:30 p.m.

Owen is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt an 81-24 loss at the hands of Draughn. The Warhorses were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-7.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Mia Roland, who posted seven points and 16 rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Elly Wright, who scored six points.

Meanwhile, Mitchell waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took down the Wildcats 60-46.

Mitchell's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Owen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
