Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jo Byrns). They breezed past the Todd County Central Rebels to the tune of 56-24 on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Devils considering their three-point performance the contest before.

Jo Byrns' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Clay Woody led the charge by rushing for 64 yards and two scores on only seven carries, while also throwing for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Another rusher making a difference was Kaveon Broxton, who rushed for 116 yards and one TD on only 11 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jo Byrns was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Todd County Central only rushed for 78 rushing yards.

Todd County Central's loss came despite strong showings from Eli Morgan and Jayden Carrington. Morgan threw for 121 yards and one touchdown on only nine passes, while Carrington picked up 102 receiving yards and one score. Zikavion Martin got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Jo Byrns' record is now 3-1. As for Todd County Central, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Jo Byrns will host Ezell-Harding Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 902 yards in their previous games. As for Todd County Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Fort Campbell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Rebels' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
