            Eastwood is 7-1 against Coronado since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Troopers will square off against the Thunderbirds at 7:00  p.m. Eastwood will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Eastwood took  a  29-point  loss the last time they faced off against Pebble Hills, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Troopers skirted past the Spartans  17-14.
A big part of Eastwood's  victory came down to the chemistry between  Kingston Jeffries and his top target  Jordan Nava. Jeffries threw for 142 yards and one  touchdown while  Nava picked up 107 receiving yards and one  TD.

 One reason for the win was Eastwood's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for nine sacks. It was truly a group effort as  Joaquin Tagle,  Jaziel Diaz,  Andrew Jackson,  and  Adian Bastidas picked up two apiece. Jackson also set a new season-high mark in  total tackles with eight. Eastwood got some further help from  Joshua Mora: he picked up  a  sack and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).
 Meanwhile,  after only seven  points in their last  matchup, Coronado made sure to put some  points up on the board against Montwood  on Friday. The Thunderbirds walked away with  a   48-35  win over the Rams. Considering the Thunderbirds' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
 Coronado's  victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Eastwood, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
 Eastwood skirted past Coronado  31-28 in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Troopers since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
