Softball Game Preview: Chippewa Chipps vs. Girard Indians

The Chippewa Chipps will square off against the Girard Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chippewa will be strutting in after a victory while Girard will be coming in after a defeat.

While Chippewa's win against Smithville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chipps had just enough and edged out the Smithies 4-2. The victory continues a trend for the Chipps in their matchups with the Smithies: they've now won seven in a row.

South Range hit Girard with a four-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians lost 11-3 to the Raiders. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Girard saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Serrano, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Girard now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Chippewa, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.
