Football Recap: Taylor Skates Past Northeast Early College with Ease

Taylor never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Northeast Early College Raiders 63-0. The Ducks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 24 points or more this season.

Taylor's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Johnny Guzman, who rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 84 yards and a pair of TDs. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Guzman a new career-high. Eric Walker Ii was another key rusher, rushing for 136 yards and one score on only five carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Taylor was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 312 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

The victory was the third in a row for Taylor, bringing their record up to 3-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.7 points on average over those games. As for Northeast Early College, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Coincidentally, Taylor and Northeast Early College will both be playing Eastside Early College the next time they take the field. The Raiders will host the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Ducks will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 23rd.
