Football Recap: Robbinsville Skates Past Mitchell with Ease

There's no place like home for Robbinsville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They breezed past the Mitchell Mountaineers to the tune of 35-6 on Friday. The Black Knights not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4, 2024 (when they won 46-16).

Robbinsville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Lovin, who rushed for 32 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 185 yards and one touchdown on only 15 passes. What's more, Lovin racked up 120.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Cameron Allison was another key player, picking up 111 receiving yards and one score.

Robbinsville didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Mitchell to a completion percentage of just 35%. The Black Knights weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 56.2%.

Robbinsville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Xamuel Wachacha led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.

The victory got Robbinsville back to even at 2-2. As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Looking ahead, Robbinsville will be playing in front of their home fans against Hayesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Black Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mitchell, they will head out to take on Hendersonville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mountaineers will need to watch out since the Bearcats have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
