Softball Recap: Proviso East Pirates vs. Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks
Proviso East was handed a 15-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 18-16 win over the Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks.

Jazlean Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and seven unearned) runs off four hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-5.
