            Carson's tournament run continued when they took on Temescal Canyon  on Monday. The Carson Senators fell just short of the Temescal Canyon Titans by a score of  54-52. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Senators came into the  match with a sizable advantage  in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states  (they are ranked 43rd in Nevada, while the Titans are ranked 550th in California).
 Several Senators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Lauren Finnerty, who  went 5 of 11  on her way to 13 points and three  steals.  Temescal Canyon was led to victory by  Ahmani Browder and  Sarai Kamweru.  Browder  dropped  a triple-double on 22 points, ten  rebounds,  and 11  assists, while  Kamweru  dropped  a double-double on 26 points and 11  boards. The  contest was  Kamweru's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  Savanna Gunnell, who  posted four  points and five  rebounds.
Carson has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost five of their last six games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record  this season. As for Temescal Canyon,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 5-10.
 Carson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  54-50  defeat against Damonte Ranch on the 3rd. As for Temescal Canyon, they will venture away from home to  take on West Valley  at 5:15  p.m.  on January 8th. That  contest will pit two of the most dominant  guards against one another:  Browder and  Makayla Castaneda.
