Volleyball Recap: St. Laurence Beats Shepard for Their Fourth Straight Victory

St. Laurence entered their tilt with Shepard on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Astros. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in April.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-22.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Laurence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Paul Rzadkosz, who had 13 digs. Those 13 digs gave Rzadkosz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Suchecki, who had 14 assists and five digs.

St. Laurence now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Shepard, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season.

St. Laurence will be playing in front of their home fans against DePaul College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shepard, they will welcome Hinsdale South at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
