Green County was the 18-4 winner over Monroe County when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dragons fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. The Dragons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Houston Hodges made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Drew Squires, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Green County now has a losing record of 5-6-2. As for Monroe County, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Looking ahead, Green County will venture away from home to challenge Hart County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Monroe County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin-Simpson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
