Basketball Recap: Danvers' Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of five wins, Danvers's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against the Masconomet Regional Chieftains, falling 47-24. The Falcons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Chieftains from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Danvers lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sienna Lynch, who posted six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jane Koulopoulos, who put up eight points.

Even though they lost, Danvers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Danvers' loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Danvers will venture away from home to take on Hamilton-Wenham Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Masconomet Regional, they are taking a road trip to face off against Saugus at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saugus will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Masconomet Regional surely won't give up without a fight.
