Jordan Arensdorf's Pleasanton team could finish as Nebraska's only undefeated champion.

Amazing action from across the country.
Putting together a talent-heavy roster generally goes a long way toward producing deep postseason runs and claiming the hardware that goes along with winning state championships. However, there are no guarantees.
Sometimes the hardware is attained simply because the champion gets hot at the right time, sneaks up on the rest of the field, and steals the show.
While the usual hombres are once again favorites to win it all in Nebraska, so long as they survive the chaos that is Nebraska girls district basketball, MaxPreps is taking a look at those Cornhusker State teams that are hot at the moment. Some of the names on our Nebraska Top 10 girls basketball winning streaks post won't surprise our readers — but some may.
Pleasanton is the only unbeaten team left in Nebraska and is riding the state's longest winning streak of 25 games, dating back to last March's 47-43 Class D1 state semifinal loss to Dundy County-Stratton. Pleasanton claimed a 53-45 win over Elkhorn Valley in the Class D1 consolation game last March before tacking on 24 straight wins this season.
Class C1 power Broken Bow has won 17 in a row to claim the No. 2 spot this week, while Weeping Water and St. Paul sit in the No. 3 and No. 4 spots with 16 and 15 game winning streaks respectively. Humphrey St. Francis' 14 game winning streak ranks the Flyers fifth in this week's Top 10.
Valentine's Day showed very little love to a couple of Nebraska's heavy hitters. Oakland-Craig entered its regular season finale against West Point-Beemer sporting a clean slate and a 23-game winning streak before falling 59-57. Clinging to a 22-game winning streak, Lawrence-Nelson dropped a 77-34 decision to Superior on that same evening.
Crete (23 games), North Central (13 games), South Loup (13 games), Chambers/Wheeler Central (19 games), Mullen (17 games), Lincoln Pius X (20 games) and Millard South (23 games) all had double digit winning streaks snapped earlier this season.
Classes C1, C2, D1 and D2 are all represented in the Top 10 this week, but that does not mean the Cornhusker State is void of hot big school girls basketball programs. Defending Class A champion Millard North and big school runner-up Lincoln Southwest share Class A's long streak of five straight wins. Bennington, meanwhile, is Class B's hottest club with seven triumphs in a row.
Ten girls basketball programs have won eight straight games, or more, to find a spot in our latest Nebraska Top 10 — and they are ready for the rip roaring postseason basketball fun coming their way at the end of February and hopefully into March.
On the first line we have provided the school, its won-loss record and the winning streak the school is currently on. The second line lists each school's MaxPreps Rankings as of Tuesday — locally and nationally – and the third line informs the reader which school handed the hot team its last loss and when.
