Soccer Game Preview: Marcus vs. Little Elm

The Marcus Marauders will head out on the road to challenge the Little Elm Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Marcus has five straight wins, Little Elm has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Marcus is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Texas' top teams: Flower Mound, who was ranked tenth at the time (Marcus was ranked 15th). Marcus' defense stepped up to hand Flower Mound a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Marauders have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Little Elm managed to keep up with Guyer until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Little Elm lost 4-0 to Guyer. That's two games in a row now that the Lobos have lost by exactly four goals.

Marcus is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-1-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those seven contests. As for Little Elm, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-1.
