Basketball Recap: Lakewood Ranch Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

A well-balanced attack led Lakewood Ranch over Braden River in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. The Lakewood Ranch Mustangs strolled past the Braden River Pirates with points to spare, taking the game 44-26. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while the Pirates are ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Braden River's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamiyah Mcgrady, who posted two points along with five rebounds and four steals. What's more, Mcgrady also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kelis McGrady, who had seven points.
