Basketball Preview: Nute Rams vs. Pittsfield Panthers
Nute is 2-8 against the Panthers since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Nute Rams will stay at home for another game and welcome the Pittsfield Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on February 5th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Nute suffered a tough 66-43 loss at the hands of the Eagles.
Meanwhile, Pittsfield lost to the Mules on the road by a decisive 60-41 margin on Friday. Pittsfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brayden Pelletier, who scored 14 points. That was a full 34.1% of Pittsfield's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Rivera, who scored 13 points.
Nute's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Pittsfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
Nute strolled past the Panthers in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 55-40. Does Nute have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
