Baseball Game Preview: Leto Falcons vs. Wharton Wildcats

The Leto Falcons will head out to square off against the Wharton Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Leto saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 5-2 to Plant City. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leto saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Lemus, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Wharton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over the Storm. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Chase Anello was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Antonio Fawcett also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Wharton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Wharton's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Leto, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Leto took their win against Wharton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-8. Does Leto have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wharton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
