The Anthony Wayne Generals's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on the Whitmer Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Anthony Wayne humbled Start with a 48-12 victory. While fans of the Generals might be used to big wins, the 36-point margin marked the team's biggest one yet.
Grant Kinnee was his usual excellent self, rushing for 90 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 164 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 65 yards. Crue Carroll was another key player, rushing for 85 yards and a touchdown.
Anthony Wayne's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Billy Cousino was especially locked on to Start's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whitmer). They claimed a resounding 63-12 victory over Southview at home. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Anthony Wayne's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Whitmer, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
