Baseball Recap: Glen Allen's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

Glen Allen's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They never let the Deep Run Wildcats get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Jaguars needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Daniel Nienaber looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Glen Allen: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 7-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Ben Pulliam was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Glen Allen's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 7-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Cam Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Glen Allen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Glen Allen's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8. As for Deep Run, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

As of now, neither Glen Allen nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
