Basketball Recap: Timnath Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Max Roselle and Jack Hemme

Timnath was the 50-44 winner over Severance when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Timnath Cubs lost to the Severance Silver Knights at home by a 62-48 margin on Friday. The match marked the Cubs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Timnath's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jack Hemme, who posted 14 points, and Max Roselle, who went 5 for 11 en route to 12 points. Roselle is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last 15 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kyle Nelson, who scored five points.

Severance's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Blake Varney, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points. Cannon Rank was another key player, going 7 for 11 to rack up 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Timnath and nudges their season record down to 10-6. As for Severance, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Thompson Valley the next time they take the court. Timnath will head out to face Thompson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Severance will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
