Recap: Spring Creek Spartans vs. Reno Huskies
The Spring Creek Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Reno by a score of 44-41. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Spring Creek in their matchups with Reno: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Spring Creek saw an underclassman step up: Delilah Bautista scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds. Bautista hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kenleigh Carsrud, who scored 10 points.
Yolanda Reyes was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 14 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last three games she's played. Kindle Rowe was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Spring Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Reno, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Spring Creek will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Truckee at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Reno's road trip will continue as they head out to face Spanish Springs at 5:15 p.m. on December 5th.
