Basketball Recap: Yazoo County Comes Up Short on the Road Against Canton

Yazoo County had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Canton Tigers by a score of 62-60. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Yazoo County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Anthony Hudson, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 15 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Southern, who shot 45% from the field en route to 16 points.

Coming up, Yazoo County will look to defend their home court on Thursday against St. Joseph Catholic at 7:30 p.m. As for Canton, they will take on Holmes County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
