Softball Recap: Ocean Lakes Has No Trouble Against Bayside

After only one run in their last matchup, Ocean Lakes made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bayside on Monday. The Dolphins blew past the Marlins 15-2. The Dolphins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Kaitlyn Wilms made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Wilms was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Lu Cirillo was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Devynn Sawyer, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Ocean Lakes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bayside only posted an OBP of .250.

Ocean Lakes' record now sits at 4-1. As for Bayside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Ocean Lakes wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-4 victory against Cox on the 1st. As for Bayside, they will face off against Hickory at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Marlins surely won't give up without a fight.
