Football Recap: Woodstock Wolverines vs. Milton Eagles

Woodstock and Milton squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Woodstock had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 42-7 loss at the hands of the Milton Eagles. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Graham Burmeister threw for 165 yards and a touchdown. Chase Colina was his top target, picking up 59 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Milton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was TJ Lester out in front who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also caught a touchdown. Lester's longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Luke Nickel was another key signal caller, throwing for 151 yards and four touchdowns on only ten passes.

Woodstock's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Milton, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Woodstock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Milton, they will stay at home for another week and welcome Dutchtown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Milton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Dutchtown likes a good challenge.
