South Eugene took a 16-run  loss the last time they faced off against Willamette, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Axe had just enough and edged out the Wolverines  10-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Axe considering their one-run performance the  contest before.
South Eugene's win  ended  a  seven-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 3-15. As for Willamette, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record  this season.
 Coincidentally, South Eugene and Willamette will both be playing South Medford the next time they take the field. The Wolverines will  host the Panthers at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday, while the Axe will  host them  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
