Softball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Notre Dame (SO)'s 13th in Last 14 Outings

Notre Dame (SO) won the last time they faced Harvard-Westlake and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Knights blew past the Wolverines 14-4. Considering the Knights have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Aliyah Garcia made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Garcia was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Jackie Morales and Charley Tapia did most of the damage at the plate: Morales went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Tapia went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those six RBI gave Morales a new career-high. Adiah Fountain was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Notre Dame (SO) has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Harvard-Westlake, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 14-4 record.

Looking ahead, Notre Dame (SO) will take on Merced in a tournament on the 25th. As for Harvard-Westlake, they will square off against Viewpoint at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolverines will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
