Albuquerque Academy snaps four-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: Albuquerque Academy Chargers vs. St. Pius X Sartans

It was a good run, but the Albuquerque Academy Chargers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 35-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Pius X. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Albuquerque Academy in their matchups with St. Pius X: they've now lost eight in a row.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cara Anderson, who scored six points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Spratley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Albuquerque Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for St. Pius X, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Albuquerque Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rio Grande at 3:15 p.m. on January 13th. Rio Grande will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Albuquerque Academy is ranked 31st). St. Pius X won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Michael's at 5:00 p.m. on January 13th. St. Michael's is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
