Southport had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 13-10 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Beech Grove Hornets as they made off with a 13-2 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cardinals needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Southport let Nick Godsey and Robert Ludlow run wild. Godsey went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Ludlow went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Godsey is becoming a predictor of Southport's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 8-10 when he doesn't).
