Basketball Recap: Mentorship Academy Takes a Loss

Mentorship Academy was the 74-56 winner over Ascension Catholic when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mentorship Academy Sharks took a 63-45 bruising from the Ascension Catholic Bulldogs on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 167th).

Mentorship Academy has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season. As for Ascension Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.
