Basketball Recap: Fox Tech Comes Up Short

Fox Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They took a 69-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brackenridge Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-55 back in January.

Brackenridge was led to victory by Jude Mendez and Jaymison Porter. Mendez went 9-for-22 on his way to 26 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, while Porter shot 60% from the field en route to 22 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Mendez has scored at least a third of the Eagles' points. Another player making a difference was Michael Canizales, who posted 13 points and six boards.

Fox Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 9-23. As for Brackenridge, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-20.

Coming up, Fox Tech will head out to challenge Sam Houston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Brackenridge, they will face off against Lanier at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will be up against the Voks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.61 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
