Inland Valley recap November 19, 2013

Rancho Verde extended the longest winning streak in Inland Valley this week by beating Colton, 52-3. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Mustangs.

Rancho Verde took down the Yellowjackets 52-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Poly's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chandler Drachslin threw for 155 and 2 touchdowns and Ykili Ross had 123 yards receiving. On the ground Leighton Silva chipped in 76 yards. Jeffrey Salamon helped Poly's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 23 yards.

Silva was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 76 yards on 7 carries as the Bears bested Summit. Teammate Devontre Hale added to the ground attack by rushing for 64 yards.

On the heels of CODY CERVANTES and KAMARRI WATSON, Canyon Springs has had great success on offense. CERVANTES leads the league in passing with 1,942 yards, while WATSON has rushed for 1,078 yards this season. Poly's Ross leads the league in receiving yards with 799 on 39 catches.

Dennis Brown's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,343 from 1,621. The improvement was largely due to a 57-26 victory over the SkyHawks last week.
