Softball Recap: Cory-Rawson Comes Up Short

Cory-Rawson extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 4-6. They came up short against the Arcadia Redskins, falling 14-2. The matchup marked the Fighting Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

As for Arcadia, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games.

For Arcadia's part, Alanna Tucker made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Tucker has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Phoebe Tesnow was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ava Hatcher, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cory-Rawson will head out to challenge Ridgemont at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Arcadia, they will venture away from home to square off against Van Buren at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
