Baseball Game Preview: Spalding Jaguars vs. Whitewater Wildcats

The Spalding Jaguars will head out on the road to square off against the Whitewater Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spalding's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four matches, but Tuesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Spalding fell victim to Mary Persons and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Whitewater duked it out with Trinity Christian on Friday. The Wildcats walked away with a 6-3 win over the Lions.

Whitewater is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Spalding, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

Spalding took their win against Whitewater in their previous matchup back in February of 2018 by a conclusive 10-3 score. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
