Jefferson County was the 70-60 winner over Carter when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Jefferson County Patriots fell 71-62 to the Carter Green Hornets on Tuesday. The Patriots' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Carter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Cowan, who went 7 of 12 en route to 19 points in addition to six boards and three blocks. Those three blocks gave Cowan a new career-high. Zion Oliver was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Jefferson County's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Carter, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6.

Jefferson County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-54 win against Morristown-Hamblen West on the 24th. Carter has also already played their next match, an 81-67 victory against Cocke County on the 24th.
