Softball Recap: Cathedral Extends Winning Streak to Four

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cathedral walked away with it. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the New Palestine Dragons on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Fighting Irish as they're now sitting on four straight.

Sidney Feczko was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordyn Hazelwood, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

Cathedral's record is now 27-2. As for New Palestine, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 26-5 record.

Cathedral didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-2 win against Evansville Memorial on the 7th. New Palestine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
