Basketball Game Preview: Lincolnwood Lancers vs. Illini Central/Greenview

The Lincolnwood Lancers will challenge Illini Central/Greenview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincolnwood is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Last Monday, Lincolnwood had to suffer through a 60-24 loss at the hands of Hillsboro. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 575th, while the Hiltoppers are ranked 163rd).

Meanwhile, Illini Central/Greenview lost to PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central at home by a 52-37 margin on Thursday. Illini Central/Greenview has struggled against PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Lincolnwood's defeat dropped their record down to 5-21. As for Illini Central/Greenview, they now have a losing record at 13-14.

Lincolnwood was able to grind out a solid win over Illini Central/Greenview in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 46-36. Will Lincolnwood repeat their success, or does Illini Central/Greenview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
