Basketball Recap: East Alton-Wood River Takes a Loss

East Alton-Wood River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Wesclin Warriors, falling 39-16. While losing is never fun, the Oilers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while the Warriors are ranked 188th).

East Alton-Wood River's defeat dropped their record down to 9-20. As for Wesclin, they pushed their record up to 18-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Alton-Wood River will face off against Salem at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wesclin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Okawville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
