Recap: Southern Alamance Patriots vs. Terry Sanford Bulldogs
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Southern Alamance Patriots had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against Terry Sanford as Southern Alamance made off with a 47-21 win. Southern Alamance is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 11 straight.
Southern Alamance had a senior duo take command as Jackson Parrish rushed for 184 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry and Logan Foust rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Foust is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played.
Another reason for the win was Southern Alamance's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Justin Dykes was the leader with two sacks.
Southern Alamance has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 12-1 record. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Cedar Ridge and 1-9 Graham (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 41.3% over those games). As for Terry Sanford, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.
Southern Alamance will head out on the road to face off against Seventy-First at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Seventy-First is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Terry Sanford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
