Meanwhile, Highlands came tearing into Monday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Colonels 10-1. Considering the Bluebirds have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Brooks Hendrix, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Nolan Schwalbach was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Highlands pushed their record up to 17-6-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-3.
