Softball Game Preview: Mason County Royals vs. Campbell County Camels

The Mason County Royals will head out on the road to take on the Campbell County Camels at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

While Royals fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They never let Augusta get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Tuesday. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Campbell County took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 9-2 margin over Holy Cross. The Camels not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2024.

Mason County took their win against Campbell County in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mason County since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
